Karlsen Plumbing is dedicated to the safety and well being of its employees in the field. Each of our employees attends an OSHA certified safety training classes. We have safety meetings that the employees attend to discuss issues regarding safety on the job site.

Each plumber at Karlsen Plumbing is a member of Local 118, and has gone through, or is currently in, an apprenticeship program that is run through Gateway Techinical College in Kenosha. Each apprentice is required to attend 440 hours of day school and 260 hours of night school. In addition, journeyman plumbers take continuing education classes in order to keep their knowledge of the plumbing industry at pace with the changes.

Local 118 has a new modern training facility located on Spring St. in Racine County. This facility has multiple welding booths and classrooms for in-house training of plumbers and steamfitters.
